“I really enjoyed the course with e5-portfolio because it has given me the possibility to learn a new skillset. I am definitely stronger and more confident in my technical skills. I am applying to Camberwell, Kingston, and Bournemouth. I feel more confident and inspired after completing this program with the e5-team.”
“I heard about the program from the brother of my best friend, who has successfully applied to art university with the help of Stephen Preece. Before going to an international high-school program I had difficulties and was struggling with my studies. After taking Art as an option at school I have realized that I can get recognized for my creative skills and potential. E5-portfolio has introduced me to a lot of other students who are also creative and who share my interests. E5-portfolio got me into a mindset where I started thinking about what I am going to do and most importantly how I am going to do it. When you spend time with people who are creative it always gives you that good feeling, inspiration, and you understand you can do more. During e5-portfolio program I learned how to be more structured in my work and how to properly shape my ideas. I will recommend the program to any other students who are struggling and who are not sure which career to proceed in creative industries. E5-portfolio program helps to shape you and to show you what your true abilities are.
I chose the program because my mother is an ex-student of Stephen Preece. I was suggested this programme because it helps you to apply to universities and it helps students to find their artistic identity. I really enjoyed this program because during this 6 months I have established a really good connection with Stephen and Katya, who really understand me. Stephen really takes his time to get to know every adolescent and guides them to the right path. He puts himself in his student shoes and most importantly he understands how difficult it can be at this stage. I am applying to universities for animation. E5-portfolio helped me to discover what I really wanted to do. I am a storyteller.
“Working with Mr. Preece has been the best decision I ever made. I worked with him for two hours every week for three years and it did wonders for my self confidence and my skills. I got the help I needed in the way I worked best, which was great because it helped me figure who I am, what I wanted and how I worked best. The time with him has helped me get into the university of my dreams with the skills and knowledge to help me succeed in life. I highly recommend to anyone who wants to find the best path for themselves.”
“You got me to believe in the way that i was expressing things, that it had value and “worked”. I learnt that it was ok that what i made wasn’t “pretty” or “technically masterful”. What was important was that I express myself through visual stuff and the message I needed to express had value because it was authentic. It’s something I look for in the arts and in people in general: authenticity. Your teaching was key to building my self-confidence to just get out there and do the wacky stuff without for once doubting in what i was doing, or even caring about what the response might be. That kind of confidence creates solid foundations and are what my earlier work – and to a certain extent my work today – is based on.”
“During my interior architecture studies Stephen was a great support in helping me realize, achieve and implement visions I was not able to materialise in a concrete way. Without imposing his views he was able to help me conceptualise different approaches to properly deliver the tasks I was assigned. His knowledge in all forms of Arts, discerning capabilities and overall patience with me were critical to my personal development in regards to my motivation to pursue my studies in interior architecture.”
“Mr Preece is an Art teacher but above all he is a seeker in authenticity; and as one of his former students I am certain that there is no better way to become an artist than to learn and grow from his practice.”
